Islam is the second largest and the fastest growing religion of the world, Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed through all his prophets to every people. Islam is both a religion and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, The name of the religion is Islam, which comes from an Arabic root word meaning "peace" and "submission." Islam teaches that one can only find peace in one's life by submitting to Almighty God (Allah) in heart, soul and deed. The same Arabic root word gives us "Salaam alaykum," ("Peace be with you"), the universal Muslim greeting. Islam a major world religion, with over 1.62 billion followers worldwide (1/4 of the world population). It is considered one of the monotheistic faiths.

The Most Concise Definition of God:

The most concise definition of God in Islam is given in the four verses of Surah Ikhlas which is Chapter 112 of the Qur’an:

"Say: He is Allah,
The One and Only.
"Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him."
[Al-Qur’an 112:1-4]

The word ‘Assamad’ is difficult to translate. It means ‘absolute existence’, which can be attributed only to Allah (swt), all other existence being temporal or conditional. It also means that Allah (swt) is not dependant on any person or thing, but all persons and things are dependant on Him. Read More

In Arabic, Allah means literally the one God. It is pretty easy to understand how different languages give the same thing different names. Is it that unusual to hear Muslims call God another name, like "Allah", while you call him God or Lord? Some people have no minds; in the last decade, a growing phenomenon was seen on the internet and in published literature. Allah is said to be the “moon god” that Arabs worshiped, and Kaaba (The Muslims holiest place on Earth) is His temple. The evidence for this theory is the crescent that appears on the top of many mosques all over the world plus a fabricated picture of the "moon god".This idea is very dangerous. If you believe that Muslims are worshiping an idol, then there is no basis even to talk to them. They are pagan idolaters like Hindus and Buddhists. It is alleged that although Islam is a monotheistic religion, the Muslims' only God is simply another idol that Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) chose (or in some versions of the story, he made it up).... Allah" is the most appropriate name for God in the Qur’an. Is this name "Allah" mentioned in other religious scriptures besides the Qur’an?

Answer: Almost all the major religious scriptures of the world contain the word "Allah" as one of the names of God.
a. Elohim El, Elah, Alah

In the Bible, God is very often referred to as ‘Elohim’ in the Hebrew language. The ‘im’ in the ending is a plural of honour and God is referred to as ‘El’ or ‘Elah’ in the English Bible with commentary, edited by reverend C. I. Scofield. ‘Elah’ is alternatively spelled as ‘Alah’. The difference in spelling is only of a single ‘L’. Muslims spell Allah as ‘Allah’ while the Reverend has spelled it as Alah and they pronounce it as ‘Elah’. Muslims pronounce it as Allah. Hebrew and Arabic are sister languages therefore we say it should be pronounced as ‘Allah’ and not as ‘Elah’.... Read More

The Qur'an is Allah's message for humanity. Allah gave this message to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in order to communicate it to his followers and through them to the world. The Qur'an is Divine word and Divine message. Why do we say that it is Allah's word? How can we be sure and have confidence that it is truly Allah's word, preserved as it was revealed and nothing was added to it and nothing was changed or lost?

وَإِنَّهُ لَتَنْزِيلُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ(192)نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ(193)عَلَى قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُنْذِرِينَ(194)بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُبِينٍ(الشعراء 192-195)

Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the worlds. With it came down the Spirit of Faith and Truth, upon your heart, that you may admonish, in the perspicuous Arabic tongue. (Al-Shu'ara' 26:192-195)...Read More

But no matter how many prophets, revelations, and books Allah sent, we know the message was always the same. There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah. Let’s examine the different revelations.

Tawrat – This is the revelation that Allah sent to Musa (Moses), peace be upon him.
Zabur – This is the revelation that Allah sent to Daud (David), peace be upon him.
Injeel – This is the revelation that Allah sent to Eesa (Jesus), peace be upon him.... (Read More)

The Qur’an (Quran / Koran) is the word of the Lord of the Worlds, which Allah revealed to His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), to bring mankind forth from darkness into light:

“It is He Who sends down manifest Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to His slave (Muhammad) that He may bring you out from darkness into light
[Surah (Chapter of) al-Hadeed 57:9 – English interpretation of the Quranic Verse]

Allah has told us in the Qur’aan (Quran / Koran) the stories of the earlier and later generations and the creation of the heavens and the earth. He has explained in detail what is halaal and what is haraam, the basics of good manners and morals, the rulings of worship and dealings with others, the lives of the Prophets and the righteous, and the reward and punishment of the believers and disbelievers. He has described Paradise, the abode of the believers, and He has described Hell, the abode of the disbelievers. He has made it (the Qur’aan (Quran / Koran)) an explanation of all things:... The Signs are listed in roughly chronological order, although the order is not necessarily precise, especially for those in the future.

This is a brief summary of the signs; there are many books, articles, cassettes etc. which discuss these in greater detail. May Allah enable us to recognise and heed the Signs, and strengthen us in the times of tribulation.

"Are they waiting for anything except the Hour, to come to them suddenly? But its Signs have already come!" (Al-Qur'ân, Surah Muhammad)
