A FORMER CHRISTIAN VIEW ABOUT ISLAM

What a former Christian and New Muslim convert has to say about Islam and more..

By Jennifer Hall AlZaeem

I was raised Christian. I converted to being a Muslim(Any Peaceful person who submits to God alone) because of the honest fundamentals of the religion is peace & doing as many good deeds as you can to get into heaven. There is a reason that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world - because when people actually research what it is all about, they are often drawn to it.

Muslims absolutely hate terrorists like ISIS because they not only give those of us true Muslims a bad name, they also make life very difficult for us. People mistakenly believe that they represent our religion(They don't).
People who hate Islam to take verses of the Quran out of context - something that can also be done with the Bible (but which is convenient really not discussed). However, it says in black-and-white in the Quran "if you kill one man, it is as if you have killed all of mankind. If you save one man, it is as if you have saved all of mankind." God can't make himself any clearer that he is saying "Thou shalt not kill!" As Muslims we know this! And praying five times daily fills a person with peace, not deadly rage. Any person who commits an act of terrorism is not a Muslim!!!

As for treating women badly, this is yet another mistaken belief. Muslim women choose to be modest as a form of self respect. Husbands are required to treat their mothers, wives, and daughters well, or face the wrath of God. Does this mean that all Muslim men are as good as my Muslim husband is? No, because while the religion is perfect, the people who follow it are human and imperfect.
The same can be said for Christianity. My good Christian ex-husband emotionally and physically abused me. Does this mean that all Christian men are abusive? Absolutely not. Just as the Christian people who kill children in schools, people in movie theaters, abortion clinics, etc. do not represent all of Christianity.
The point is, we need to stop judging people for the actions of others. Yes, there are some people calling themselves Muslims who have committed atrocities. But plenty of Christians have committed atrocities as well, yet they are not called terrorists, and the whole world doesn't turn against them for the actions of those few.
The cold hard fact is that Christians have killed so many more Muslims than Muslims have killed people of any other religion combined. To continue promoting blind hatred of Islam and Muslims is quite simply hypocrisy at its worst.
